Socially Conscious Manufacturing

It’s generally thought that textile manufacturers are not socially conscious – and stereotypes often lean toward the use of sweatshops and third-world exploitation.

ADO is socially conscious because:

The International Oeko-Tex Association is a group of 14 well-known textile testing and research institutes in Europe and Japan with contact offices in over 40 countries worldwide. With their stringent tests in line with the requirements of the Oeko-Tex criteria catalogue, they guarantee human-ecological safety of textiles under their certification.

The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 was introduced in 1992 to offer consumers the greatest possible assurance in terms of health. Today, there is a reliable network of over 7,000 manufacturers worldwide at all stages in the textile processing chain who are permanently involved in the certification process and thus play an active part in constantly increasing the level of security in terms of the safety of textiles. Products are only eligible to use the Oeko-Tex label if all components have been successfully tested.

The label “Confidence in textiles – tested for harmful substances according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100” is synonymous with total peace of mind when purchasing textiles. The internationally binding test catalogue is based on scientifically proven parameters and is updated annually in line with current developments in research and legislation.

For each certification process by one of the 14 authorized Oeko-Tex test institutes, tests are carried out on the following:

ADO fabrics fall into the product class IV for Oeko-Tex certification testing, which also include emission tests to ensure that no volatile components are able to diffuse from the textile to the surrounding air.
